Founded by Dr. Norman Isaacs and a small group of concerned parents in 2005, CHAMPS Charter High School is an independent public high school offering small academic classes including honors and advanced placement, as well as comprehensive academies for dance, drama, music, new media and robotics.The Film Academy is slated to open fall 2008 and more academies are in development. Students come from diverse backgrounds and a wide geographic area. Kindness and respect for one another predominate on the campus.
CHAMPS is the first California charter high school to achieve an Academic Performance Index score of 800 in only its second year of operation. To help keep class sizes small, the families of every student are asked to contribute five hours of service (or equivalent monetary donation) to the school per month. |
